My son was charged with driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol; and while this was his first offense, he was charged with a felony DUI with great bodily injury. There was an accident which caused my son’s passenger to get seriously injured as a result of the driving. He had a designated driver that evening but when that person left my son made a horrible decision to drive home. We then contacted the law offices of Wallin & Klarich to help him. We posted a bail and his case was put over for a few months. Then he was unable to make his court date and a bench warrant was issued for his arrest.

My attorney at Wallin & Klarich argued for my sons release on his own recognizance and the district attorney objected and wanted him to post another bail. The judge agreed with my attorney and released him on his own recognizance. The district attorney also filed charges that had his exposure up to 6 years in prison. The district attorney made him an offer of either, 16 months in prison or one year in the county jail and his attorney was able to cut that time in half and allow him to make application for electronic home confinement. He will not have to spend a day in jail. We truly believe that without the familiarity my Wallin & Klarich attorney had with the court he would be in custody for many months.
