A client facing six counts of lewd acts with a minor under PC 288 was found not guilty by a jury after Wallin & Klarich defends the client at trial.
Tustin, Calif. – Wallin & Klarich, A Law Corporation is pleased to announce that a client facing the possibility of life in prison for sex crime charges was found not guilty at trial.
The defendant was charged with six counts of sex crimes involving a minor under California Penal Code Section 288, including oral copulation on a minor and lewd acts involving a minor. If convicted of these crimes, our client would have faced 23 years to life in prison.
Our client vehemently denied the allegations against him. At trial, Wallin & Klarich Attorney Jonathan Lynn established reasonable doubt within the jury by showing the accusations were based on an argument between the defendant and an ex-spouse.
Attorney Lynn was able to show the jury that the allegations of sexual abuse stemmed from an argument about the child’s college applications and were not based in fact. After less than two hours of deliberations, the jury returned a verdict of not guilty on all counts.
“The jury had reasonable doubt regarding whether the allegations made by the alleged victim were true. We defended our client aggressively to show that he was not the type of person who would commit these crimes and uncover a motive behind the false accusations. Our client was extremely satisfied by the jury’s decision, and we are thankful that we were able to achieve this excellent result for our client,” Attorney Lynn said.
