The answer is YES. In California if the court finds you guilty of going in excess of 100 mph then the court has the power to immediately suspend your drivers license for 30 days. The judge will order the bailiff to seize your drivers license and the DMV will be notified of the suspension. If you drive during that period of time you will face serious misdemeanor charges of driving on a suspended license which can result in a jail sentence.
