The California Department of Justice operates a sex offender database pursuant to its sex offender tracking program. The Department of Justice makes information about registered sex offenders available to the public through their Megan’s Law website. This website can include information about sex offenders including name, date of birth, height, weight, ethnicity, the crime or crimes they were convicted of and their full home address.

This obviously can have a significant negative impact on those who are listed. It is important to know that approximately 25% of registered sex offenders are excluded from public disclosure by law which means that they can have their names removed form the Megan’s law website if it currently appears thereon. Wallin & Klarich has been helping those eligible to have their names removed from this website since its inception. Wallin & Klarich will be able to explain clearly to you whether you are eligible to have your name removed from the website and, if so, will work quickly to achieve that outcome for you.
