Wallin & Klarich Senior Partner, Paul J. Wallin Speaks At Local Shelter For Women

On January 9, 2013 Senior Partner Paul Wallin had the honor of meeting with 20 women who reside at WISEPlace in Santa Ana to answer all of their legal questions. WISEPlace is a shelter for women in transition.  The women are required to be drug free and demonstrate an ongoing effort to seek employment.

WISEPlace provides critical life skills to assist in the job market and in being able to move forward in rebuilding their life. The volunteers at WISEPlace are truly wonderful people who are helping many motivated women make positive steps forward in their lives.

The women at WISEPlace asked thought provoking questions. They ranged from questions about how to properly file a domestic violence restraining order (DVRO) to questions about “landlord tenant law” to questions about sexual harassment in the workplace. There were also many questions about the proper way to file motions to clear up a prior criminal record.

Mr. Wallin left samples of DVRO paperwork as well as information directing the proper filing for dissolution in California along with “fee waiver forms” to assist the women in exercising their legal rights. After attending the question and answer session at WISEPlace, Mr. Wallin stated:

“I was overwhelmed by the commitment that these women have to moving forward in their lives. I was very impressed by how well WISEPlace is run. It is very easy to see why so many women are benefiting from their association with WISEPlace. Giving back to the community by being able to answer the legal questions of the WISEPlace rewarding and I look forward to being an ongoing resource to these courageous women.
