Anaheim Man Found Guilty of Producing, Distributing, and Possessing Child Sexual Abuse Material of a Teenager
An Orange County man has been found guilty of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl after giving her alcohol and drugs. Jonathan Gonzalez-Reyes, 38, from Anaheim, was convicted of producing, distributing, and possessing child pornography, according to the U.S. Department of Justice. During a three-day trial, evidence showed that in June 2021, Gonzalez-Reyes and his co-defendant, 32-year-old Nanci Jasmin Castillo, gave the girl alcohol and anti-anxiety medication before assaulting her while she was semiconscious.
According to the DOJ, Castillo and Gonzalez-Reyes recorded photos and videos of the assault and shared them with each other. A search warrant for their online cloud accounts later uncovered the evidence. Both were arrested in June 2024 and have remained in federal custody since.
In February, Castillo admitted to producing child pornography and could face 15 to 30 years in prison. Gonzalez-Reyes faces a similar sentence. Both are scheduled to appear in court for sentencing on July 28. The FBI and the Anaheim Police Department conducted the investigation.
