Is My Loved One Safe in Jail?
We fight hard to keep our clients out of jail or prison. We understand the “short” and “long term consequences of doing time in a county jail or state prison.
Regrettably, there are some “jailers” who take advantage of their position of authority and treat those in custody horribly.
Recent Abuse by Jailers Should Concern Anyone Charged with a Crime.
We hear stories of “abuse” of inmates by those that supervise them in jail often. However, rarely is it possible to prove these serious allegations.
However, in one such case, an Alameda County Superior Court Judge has found enough evidence to have two former Alameda County Sheriff’s deputies stand trial on multiple felony charges alleging that the two directed inmates under their watch to spray feces and urine—referred to as “gassing”—on other inmates that the deputies did not like.
At Wallin and Klarich we are outraged by this information. If this can happen in 2019 in one California jail it is possible that it could happen in any other jail.
Please keep this in mind before you agree to a jail or prison sentence in California.
When you are accused of a crime you owe it to your family and to your own dignity to not agree to accept a jail sentence until you have conferred with one of our highly experienced criminal defense lawyers at Wallin and Klarich.
Never be “rushed” by a public defender or a judge to accept a jail sentence until you have considered all other possible options. If you were told by one doctor you needed brain surgery wouldn’t you get a “second opinion” before you let a doctor cut into your head?
Of course, you would.
We will be here when you call us for legal guidance.
