Attempted Carjacking Suspect Shot and Killed

Early today, the Wendy Burch report form KTLA.com reported that, a suspect, who name is not being released at this time, attempted to car jack an off-duty police officer.

Police are now investigating the incident, which occurred in the Harbor Gateway neighborhood in Los Angeles. It happened around midnight and the off- duty officer pulled out his weapon firing and hitting the suspect, who was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Carjacking is the felonious taking of a motor vehicle in the possession of another, from his person or immediate presence, against his will and with the intent to either permanently or temporarily deprive the person in possession of the motor vehicle of his possession, accomplished by means of force or fear. It is punishable up to nine years in state prison.
