It was recently reported that a24-year-old homeless allegedly raped an 18-year-old woman three times near the Civic Center area in Santa Ana. Eric Leon Jamison was arrested Tuesday morning on suspicion of rape after the victim identified him from a photo line up. The victim said the man asked her to become a prostitute. When the victim refused, Jamison became angry and violent in an attempt to intimidate her.

Two days later, the victim said she was partying at the Civic Center when Jamison forcefully raped here while she was intoxicated. The victim ended up falling asleep on a bench in the Civic Center area and was forcefully raped a second time by Jamison. Later, at about 3:00 A.M. on Sunday morning, she was raped again in a parking structure by Jamison who was under the influence of methamphetamine.

Under California Penal Code section 261, rape as defined as an act of sexual intercourse accomplished with a person not the spouse of the perpetrator where it is accomplished against a person’s will by means of force, violence, duress, menace, or fear of immediate and unlawful bodily injury on the person. More importantly, the crime of rape is a felony punishable by imprisonment in state prison for three, six, or eight years.
